For Manakish, Mediterranean food is more than just hummus. It’s zaatar, fattoush, fetteh, and kefta (Psst... don’t know what those are? They’re happy to teach you). It’s bold spices for those who dare, authentic hand-stretched cheeses, marinated blends of meat or vegetarian mixes, and the freshest greens. It’s also tradition, both old and new, both Eastern and Cali West Coast.

That’s why when Manakish came to us for a complete brand refresh, we tapped into iconic Eastern Mediterranean imagery and symbols and remixed them with a punchy, lean Cali palette and approach.

We started with a friendly but informative brand voice, helping introduce new dishes and flavors to a semi-suburban American customer. When Manakish told us, “We love our existing logo, don’t change it,” we surprised them with a nuanced upgrade they loved even more. We centered a textured typeface with tons of personality and complimented it with super fresh photography and bright graphic elements that had just enough Mediterranean flavor.

For their launch, we created a comprehensive but visually impactful series of menus, graphic and textural tissue paper, signage, posters, and stamps to decorate their eco-conscious packaging. The result? A playful and inviting refreshed restaurant serving up new traditions.
